No One has to suffer alone, SPEAK UP!!!
A Message from our Founder and CEO
Help Us fight Domestic Violence.
No one has to go through such a painful experience. Read her story below.
This is my domestic violence story… I’m speaking up!!!!!! I was 16 when I experienced physical abuse. I was in a relationship with a man that literally beat me everyday. Black eyes busted lips bruises all over my body. I remember not being able to go anywhere and being condemned to my house, I wasn’t allowed to go out and enjoy life. I had my first child at 16 and I remember being so tired from cleaning and washing clothes one day I sat down and fell asleep in this recliner chair we had in the living room, I was thinking I could just rest for a minute and then get up and cook before he got back. I woke up to a blow to the head with a beer bottle and when I opened my eyes blood was running everywhere, I was dizzy and dazed, he pulled me by my hair and forced me into the kitchen to cook his food that I forgot to have all ready done before he got there. I stood at the counter in the kitchen barely able to stand and feeling like I was going to pass out, with blood everywhere, I passed out and woke up in the hospital. I stayed in that relationship for 16 years…
